Up the punx! Vol. 1

The basic premise of this series is for me to post a bunch of classic punk/hardcore/powerviolence/thrashcore/grindcore records that most of you metalheads won't appreciate the glory of. Going to start with a record which had a huge influence on Napalm Death, Repulsion and basically all of the early grind scene:

SIEGE - DROP DEAD

The throne is alive!

Basically any DarkThrone fan knows that they don't perform live. What you may not know, however, is that they used to, and there are a couple of live recordings from back in the day (including some unreleased tracks). Here's a couple of bootlegs, The Roots of Evilness (recording date unknown but it features mainly Soulside Journey tracks, released in 1997) and A Night of Unholy Black Metal (stuff from the first three BM albums, released 1996).

Of Tory scum and fucking pigs.

Fukpig is one of the best bands of recent times. I come to tell thee as a prophet. Their highly-charged brand of grinding blackened crust is simultaneously ripping and quite catchy. As part of my prophet's role, I feel I should bring their goodness in the form of goodies. Only the Nuclear Apocalypse demo and the split with Selfless are missing, because I haven't been able to find either of them.

Napalm up your ass

Let's face it, does bad Japanese grind even exist? What makes this even better is that it takes heavy cues from early Napalm Death, while keeping a distinct sense of humour.

Damned explosive Jews

Before continuing, I should add the disclaimer - I am not a Nazi, I do not support racism, fascism or individual oppression. Now that's out of the way, I thought I'd introduce myself with this album I've been jamming a fair bit recently. Mid-paced death metal from Poland with unfortunate NS themes. Very catchy though, and appropriately and nicely raw production.
